Pierre Gaillard - St Joseph Rouge
A perfumed, mid-weight Rhône Syrah from the relatively cool slopes in the north of the Saint Joseph appellation. As are all his Syrahs, Pierre Gaillard's St-Joseph is all destemmed, and sees the barest amount of new oak, really letting the pure fruit shine through. A fine-tuned, velvety wine, as much as a Syrah can be, with punchy red fruit flavours, and a stoney touch to the finish.
